Take A Word... MOON

This week over at Take A Word Challenge, the word was Moon. I've been contemplating for days, and finally it hit me.. " Blue Moon of Kentucky", by Bill Monroe.
I wasn't born in Kentucky, but both Mom and Dad's family extend to western Kentucky, and as well, I married the most delightful man who's family came from Kentucky also. I'm pretty much alone now, so many Kentuckian's that I hold so dear to my heart are gone now.
Here are the heartfelt inspiring lyrics....

" I said, Blue Moon of Kentucky , Keep on a- Shinin" Shine on the one that's gone and left me blue."

This moving song was sung and recorded by so many accomplished singers like; Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley and of course, the legendary Bill Monroe.
God rest the sweet souls that  the Kentucky Moon shines on even tonight:  Chole, Eli, Ezra, Ezra Arkley, Otha, Eutha, Opal, and my dear and precious father, Henry Liscol and so, so  many more loved ones that  lie beneath that illuminating "Blue Moon of Kentucky". God Bless and rest their sweet souls.

Three Muse Challenge Feb.9th "LYRIC". I selected " As Time Goes By" from the movie Casablanca.
.Ken and I watched it so many times we actually knew what Boggie and Bergman were going to say before they uttered the words like, "We'll always have Paris" and " Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine", the list is endless. Such sweet memories that I hold on to. Check out the other fantastic LYRIC art pieces that others have posted, here's the link:
"As Time Goes By"

As Time Goes By

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by
And when two lovers woo
They still say "I love you"
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man, and man must have his mate
That no one can deny
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man, and man must have his mate
That no one can deny
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by

Art 'n Soul Studio

February Challenge at Art 'N Soul Studio Facebook. Challenge was Hearts and Flowers. I started with two pages of journaling about the word "Heart", then covered with paper napkins, paint, gesso, ink and cut out hearts. I love the quote from "The Secret Garden" by R. Bennett; "Be led by the dreams in your heart."

Turquoise and Red Challenge presented by
 The Three Muses Challenge.

I'm still using primitive art methods, paper, paint, glue and found stuff, wish I could figure out this new Digital Art, but alas.... too old, too late. This is my take on the Turquoise and Red Challenge, I used lots of red magazine clips, distressed paint, journaling (hidden under the paint) and one of hubby's cigar wrappers, what a lovely necklace for the Lady in Red. Head on over to their blog and see all the other fantastic art work.

After almost seven years off... I'M BACK.
Life has had it's UPS and DOWNS, now it's time to Get Creative.

This little page  was made as a challenge for "TRY IT ON TUESDAY"  The challenge was Fire and Ice, using Hot and Cool hues. As my Muse took over it became obvious the piece would have  NOTHING to do with fire or Ice, but I did stick to the Hot and Cool.  Great Fun.

Check out their other cool stuff  This link will take you there....Try it on Tuesday
